How do you satisfy someone who truly loves to cook with the perfect kitchen? Mrs O’Neill, from Edinburgh, who once attended Martin Wishart’s cookery school, wanted to make her kitchen look as good as possible: and she turned to Ekco to help her fulfil her dream.
It could be argued that satisfying such a kitchen devotee was the biggest challenge of all: but there were plenty of practical difficulties too. For example, the O’Neills wanted an American style fridge freezer and some distinct styling such as vanilla gloss and light wood coloured doors.
Finding the perfect brand was the first step towards satisfying the needs of Mr and Mrs O’Neill. They have a gallery style kitchen and Pronorm was the ideal fit. This allowed them to make use of the American style fridge freezer they wanted, as well as features such as a built-in dishwasher and a waste disposal unit, alongside a Siemens induction hob. The oven was set at mid-height amid a bank of tall units to make it as convenient as possible while there are soft closing doors and drawers that are easy and functional to use.
When searching for the right worktop brand, we didn’t have to look for long – Duropal was the obvious choice thanks to its colour scheme and quality; while a Caple pull-out spray tap in chrome was selected with a Carron 1.5 bowl sink.
Of course while the kitchen needed to be highly practical for such a devoted cook, it also needed to be beautiful: and the vanilla gloss and medium walnut doors provided the perfect finish that the O’Neill family had been longing for.
“The job done by the Ekco designers was simply outstanding: they have literally ticked every box and we are thrilled with the results.”
