There’s something quite magical about Mr and Mrs Cooper’s kitchen in Edinburgh: and the client was certainly inspired when they contacted Ekco about bringing their vision to life. They worked closely with our designers with the idea of including Sheraton shaker wood painted blue with lissa Oak carcasses.
With several new appliances to be incorporated into the kitchen, it was necessary to move the gas supply to the opposite side of the room in order to create an appropriate position for the range cooker. Thankfully, Ekco has an extensive team of kitchen fitters to call on and was able to cover every angle.
Step one in turning this vision into a reality was to get in touch with one of our gas registered plumbers. He was able to change the position of the gas supply and meet the client’s new requirements. The result was that we could fit more units into the space and enjoy more room for the appliances.
So what appliances were used? To complement the Sheraton kitchen, we turned to Siemens with its canopy extractor hood and a fully integrated dishwasher. The eye-catching worktops, meanwhile, were supplied by the Sutton ‘Nero’ Granite brand.
What we love about this kitchen is how it blends the old with the new. It is spacious with room for a dining table, giving it a modern feel as a meeting point for all the family. However, at the same time there are a host of classical, almost retro touches, to perfectly complement the client’s tastes. It’s an unusual mix that somehow works with beautiful results.
“This was a massive task – but the Ekco team really blew us away with how efficient and well-organised they were.”
