Is it possible to breathe new life into a tiny closet space bathroom? For Mr and Mrs Woods, in Uphall, the answer was a resounding ‘yes’ as a modern and functional bathroom was created despite the limitations in size, proving that good things do indeed come in small packages.
Create more space in a very small room while still offering a fashionable, modern bathroom with a toilet and washbasin. Find a way to create more floor space so that the bathroom doesn’t feel cramped and provide a creative and inspiring design that will transform the zone.
The Ekco team set to work by stripping out the previous WC and the skirting boards while also focusing on replacing the window ledge in an effort to add more depth to the room.
The focus was then on tiling the area behind the WC and creating a splash back behind the basin that would offer a modern mosaic tile effect and contrast with the floor tile, which was also used as skirting. In an effort to create additional space, another smart tactic was implementing a reduced depth furniture unit to provide more floor space. With a large mirror in place too, the room looks and feels even bigger than it is: allowingMrandMrsWoods to use the bathroom without feeling cramped or claustrophobic.
At the heart of the success was an Ambiance Bain Mambo unit in charcoal oak that offers a beautiful finish and minimises the space needed for an essential appliance.
Furthermore, Ekco made use of a Grohe Concetto Basin mixer, a Keuco Plan toilet roll holder and a colour co-ordinated towel warmer that helped to pull the design together.
“We couldn’t be happier: it’s amazing to think what Ekco has done in such a small area. They turned a small space into a real room.”
