So you need to replace a bath and shower fitting and want to change the room around by placing the new fittings on the opposite wall, creating space and a fashionable new look. Is it achievable? It is if you are Mr and Mrs Reynolds, from Broxburn, and you give Ekco a call.
This was far from an easy challenge for the Ekco team as it was highly complex to fit everything into the small space while also providing a bath screen that could open outwards without causing a significant issue with mobility. The clients also required neutral colours, so design was at a premium.
There were a host of steps needed to turn Mr and Mrs Reynolds’ bathroom into such a success.
Firstly, we incorporated a bulkhead to window height that could house the wall hung frame and push the basin unit slightly forward. This allowed us to introduce a Grohe Exposed Valve Grohetherm 1000 shower to the opposite wall and implement a double panel folding bath screen that could provide better access to the bath past the basin unit: an Ambiance Bain Tiki unit with Malaga finish.
While the practicalities of the new features were in place, we took into account a fashionable design during every stage: improving the natural feel of the room with Bohemia and Moravia tiles from Collinson ceramics. There is a vogue towel warmer with cappuccino finish that was positioned close to the shower for easy access; four LED spotlights ensured the room had perfect lighting; while a host of accessories including Keuco and Miller of Sweden corner baskets and a shaving mirror provided that perfect finish.
“I can’t believe the transformation: is this really our bathroom? It’s like a dream.”
